I went down to the garage and looked at mine and there is a gap. I never even noticed it.

I had the same problem with the CDC on an 04. Ended up taking the tape off and then installing with small bolts and big washers. That snugged it up. I think the tape is part of the problem.

You may want to consider bolting it on then.. now harm in drilling a few holes where the sun don't shine I mounted my 07's chin spoiler that way.. and never had to worry about the tape wearing out. The front bumper of the car is a pretty harsh environment (rocks, dust, turbulent air).. and the front of the S197 is as aerodynamic as a brick wall on the highway..putting a lot of pressure on that tape.

Plus, it will give you an excuse to get into the garage and under the car for a little while

I don't see how I can use bolts on this piece. I seen one spot where it can be ground down a little to help....if I get around to taking off again.... hood and spoiler coming in a few weeks that will bring my eyes off that
