Ramps
Hi All
Anyone had experience of these?

In the past i have known them to slip away as you try and drive on them, wondered if things have improved.
Thanks
Graeme

Yep.....they slip faster now......plus I have seen them fold under weight.......I used them on a regular basis until a set folded up with a car on them. Never again.

I have Rhino Ramps that I bought from an Autozone for about $50 a few years back (silver/gray color) and even on finished garage floors I've never had them slip. With their rubber feet, the moment the weight of the vehicle touches the ramp mine seem to sit tight in place. Just don't hit them at any speed; roll up gently. I use them on both Stangs and on my SUV.
Looks like the price dropped or I was screwed out of $10. So be it...

Here's a good how-to on making your own wood ramps .
But if money is not important, you could always go with Race Ramps

i have a set of the rhino ramps from oreily.
they did slide on occasion, but that was on the street with some debris on the road.
so if you do things correctly, they should not slide.
my 2000 GT is lowered 2" and does not clear the ramps
and does not clear race ramps, the 10° regular ones, but would probly clear the extended ones.
my dad built me a make shift extension with various lengths of wood that make the incline less steep
just add a couple of 1" tall pieces of wood to the end of the ramp so it goes up gradually.
and this works on my 2000.
after i drive up the ramps i use jack stands for insurance.
i dont really trust either the ramps or jack stands by themselves.
friend of mine had a jack stand bottom out one time, good thing he wasn't under the car at the time.

I have that exact set of ramps you linked down in the garage. They work fine, I've not had any issues with them. The key is to line them up, then kick the ramp under the tire a few times, make sure they are straight again, then just drive right up. The only time I've ever had any ramp slip is when I simply placed it in front of the tires, and drove at them. Wedge them under a little bit and they don't move.
