Default Shaker 500 pinout and wire colors

Hey all. I've found several sources for the pinout of the Shaker 500 and few sources for the wire colors. Also, I've seen that some people have installed a line to RCA converter in the back speaker outputs...

So, here's what I'm finding - and this is open for criticism/correction...

And I know that there are other posts on this, but this adds a little new somethin' somethin'...

Use the J4 output from the stereo to tap into for the new sub input as it is low passed and already a preamp signal that goes to the OEM amps and then to the door subs.

It seems that signal that goes to the rear speakers may go through a high pass filter, but I've seen only one reference to this. If this is the case, then the signal feeding the new sub amp/subs won't be, um, fulfilling At any rate, when tapping a signal after the amplifier generally the speaker output is cut. If it can be avoided, then that's what I'd do.

Finally, I've merged two sources of information - a wire chart and the Shaker 500 pinout...I've attached it as a jpeg, can do acrobat if desired.

Click on this link... PDF file. Find wiring diagrams and then audio and scroll through 13 pages and find what you need. I used it last night when installing my system... good luck.

Hey Revel, I installed an Audio Control LC2I and a JL 500/1 amp and a 12" last night after tapping right off the back deck (quarter) speakers and the thing sounds amazing. This particular ALOC offers roll off cancelling and is also a line driver for full pass and low pass output. It has only been on the street several months but if you can get a hold of one it will help you tremendously in producing quailty sound from the Shaker 500. It cost me $90 bucks on Crutchfield and it was worth 10 times that when it comes to ease of install and sound quality. Thought I'd throw that out there...

Bummer, can't see any pics on the website, only red "x"....

I'm trying to hook up my amp but can't figure out which wires are +/-. Hooked up a meter to both and get power out of both wires.

I don't see why the link isn't working. Here's the link. Looks best when viewed 'large' - right click on image and select large
