First Road Trip in my 2011 5.0!
Put 400 miles on it today driving to and from Houston from SA, very pleased with the mileage @ 21+ mpg. I know that is not much to brag about, but the cruise was set @ 80 for the entire trip, + the occasional 100+ blast to pass a truck or two. From both my 2002 GT and my 2006 GTO, I never saw better than 17 on the highway due to my foot issues, so I am pretty stoked over how efficient the coyote is proving to be.
I did have a serious hooligan moment with some guy in a 3 series riding my bumper. He probably wanted to hear me crack it open, the steeda/borla's were rumbling pretty good, so I obliged him with a redline in 4th and then in 5th; first time I have leaned on it that hard at that speed. It was still pulling hard way past stupid, and I backed it down. Before the flames start, the road was perfectly clear, straight & 8 lanes. Holy cow this thing is delightfully quick.
What are ya'll seeing from your 5.0's mileage wise?

It was an older 3 series; he made no attempt to keep up. I have noticed a few folks riding my bumper since the axle-backs went on hoping to hear me stomp it. Of course, I do. The 5.0 is really getting some notoriety w/ people wanting to hear it.

Zero drone at steady cruise; sounds stock a level cruise. You do hear it when accelerating at all, and it is quite loud @ WOT. It honestly sounds like the S-types displayed in the mustang video on Borla's website. Steeda sources its cans from Borla, so that is not a surprise. I love the sound, and it has completely changed / improved the experience of owning the car. Add to that the extra push afforded by the rest of the kit, and it is a different car.
Just phenominal fun.

I took my 5.0 on a road trip right around thanksgiving from IL to NY and then back, I was much less aggressive on the throttle than you were, but averaging about 73mph and cruising most of the time on I-80 I managed to get 24.55mpg over the whole 2200ish mile trip.
Honestly the new mustangs are amazing for road trips, I found while cruising the ride is crazy comfortable, the bucket seats make for a great time and the stereo for being a stock system is pretty awesome. I took the same road trip in a Camry and definitely didn't enjoy it as much although next to the mustang, the Camry does feel crazy light.

It is plenty comfortable for a few hundred miles, but I would not care to spend 8 hours at any one sitting. I find the ride a bit harsh w/ the Brembo's (and the 19's that come w/ it). The stereo is fine, but the JBL in my 07' Tundra is far better to listen too.
The motor, though----Holy cow. I will take it on 200 mile trips as often as I get the chance.
