Cool Straight Pipe vs Axle Back

I got a question and looking for input, please feel to digress should you choose to. I got an 06 GT, and currently I have an axle back Borla exhaust. I was thinking of getting straight pipes while keeping my Cats cause I dont need the headache with the emissions test. So my question is, would you keep the set up of Borla as it is, or just cut it and make it a straight pipe straight through. Thanks in advance

I personally like the sound of the straight pipes. The straight pipes are cheap enough to the point that it is worth throwing on a set to try them out. You will definitely get a glass-pack like sound especially when lifting off the gas pedal at speed....I like that sound!!

Oh definitely keep the Borla. Straight pipe will sound like a truck unless you do an X pipe too. Borla axleback is essentially a straight pipe anyway (it is a straight through muffler) except it muffles out the ****ty sound and turns it into a symphony.

sell the borla and get some pype bombs! they are basically straight pipes but they dont have all the raspiness and popping bc the tip is a resonator. it flows great and sounds amazing

I wouldn't go with the straight pipes either. Sounds like an old paperwood truck to me.

Muffler deletes/straight pipes sound good with the catted H but are a little too loud for me with an o/r midpipe or even one with hi-flow cats.

I personally love the Pype Bombs sound, bought mine used on Ebay from someone who's neighbors complained about them (which was the perfect endorsement for me!) for less than $200 and put them on and never looked back.

Straight pipes sound pretty kick ***, but may be a ticket earner if you have angry neighbors or cops.
