Default R2C Cold Air Intake

Recently bought a 2007 GT Mustang Firered, and I would like to add a cold air intake, there are a ton of different models, and while searching I came across the R2C CAI, and am having a hard time finding much information on it. If anyone currently is running the R2C or has I would like to hear their opinions and thoughts. Thanks.

First, a stand-alone, no-tune-required CAI is about useless. You'll gain MAYBE 3-5 RWHP and might still throw a code for running lean. A CAI & custom tune combo will gain 20-25 RWHP and has other benefits. Research it and check out the AM and Brenspeed websites.

I would recommend you to get Volant Cold Air Intake System!
This intake increases horsepower (18-25), torque and gas mileage.

If must go with a CAI without a tune, I believe AirRad makes a good model that can be used both with and without a tune. They have a removable resitrictor that when left in will allow you to run the CAI without a tune. When you're ready for some real power with a tune, you can remove the restrictor and get the right tune to run it like that.

Don't buy a no-tune CAI.

Also, despite what advertisers claim, no CAI+tune will increase power AND fuel economy.

They only increase fuel economy if you can keep your foot out of the gas

I tried it for a week with my new AM tune (91 performance) in my auto. It really does get me about 1-2 mpg more around town since the power is more instant now so I can drive it like a granny if I want...but...I can't resist hitting the gas and have it get squirlly on me when it shifts 1-2 I grin like a little kid when it does

The increase comes from your change in driving style, not from the CAI/tune.

+1000!!!!

You are so right here, and even if you have an economy tune to maximize MPG, you will not save any gass if you step on it all the time.
