Truth of myth?

Yes 310 is a random number. Reason for it is because where I live the people who own mustangs are all making like 280rwhp to 300rwhp. Most of them that are making that kind of power are good friends a mine and on weekends in the summer we all go down to the drag strip and have some friendly races. I was the one with no mods and always came a second short of everyone lol (just got the car). Anyways they have standards and i'm only an auto so apparently I need a few extra ponies if I wanna hang with them. Reason I get so worked up about losing power is because i put like a lot of money (well for me) into my mustang and I would be discouraged to lose hp.

I do I do. I have a 91 octane tune from bama, cold air intake, steeda pulleys, catted slp x pipe, and now the loudmouths. First time I ever modded something and i know it's not much but I can't wait to drive my car with the mods on. Shes still locked away in the barn.

You shouldn't lose any hp nor tq. Just keep in mind that a catted x (hi-flow) cats and SLP LM will be loud as hell once you hit around 3500 RPMS. You will also get this trumpeting or blatting sound mid to wot around 2000 RPMs. I had SLP LM with a prochamber and hi-flows. Sounded good at idle and crusing but as soon as I gave it any gas, it became a little too loud. I had resonators welded in and that took care of the trumpeting and gave it a much cleaner tone. IMO SLP LM sound best with the stock catted H.
