hit the nail on the head.

I'm not an expert, but boy I've done a lot of trading... lol.

Best rule of thumb is this....don't get in a hurry. Be ready to walk away. Keep a level head...they don't have the one and only ever made. I learned to be firm or leave, and I am telling you it has always worked to my advantage. I have been told that I can be very difficult in a car trade.....but I don't care. In the end I don't want to give my a** away on the deal. We lose enough money as it is.

The last TWO car deals I was involved in, I wore the salesmen out. I am not kidding. They were sooo glad to see me leave. Lol.

Seems low....I would think a minimum of $14.5K trade in value and to sell it out-right, it should sell for 16K+.....quick sale....18K+ for the right customer. From what I remember with all your posts, you are very precise/concerned which means your car is very clean/immaculate which is a great selling point. What are you trading in for???

Exactly, in the last year you have done so many good mods. What's up?

It sounds a bit low and the dealer knows that he can not only get folks to bite so they don't have to go thru the hassle of selling privately but that they can turn around and get about $16k from some fool.

IF you can swing it, sell it privately while you're driving your new car and the fool will pay YOU $16k instead of the fool paying the ******** (a.k.a. dealer).

Compare that price to what other similar vehicles are going for in your area. Figure those other vehicles are going to be easily a few grand more than the trade in value...but even for a trade in that sounds low.

Maybe you should consider buying a set of ******* and a wig to convince them your car is worth more.
