Default Loudest Year of GT Stock Mufflers?

Hey guys. (First post)

I was just wondering what the loudest year of GT OEM (stock) mufflers is (2005-2011)? If it is not officially known, what is the year that is overall accepted as putting out the most volume roughly? Are they just about identical? What are your thoughts?

Great forum by the way!

Also, are the Shelby GT500 mufflers considered louder than GT stock? Sorry for that double post.

The 05-09 S197 has the loudest stock mufflers. no real difference between the years. when they first came out in 05 the magazines all agreed it was the loudest factory exhaust to date if i remember correctly.

Yes...They are called stingers (by frpp or borla)...Here's the list in somewhat logical order from "loudest" to "quietness":

GT 500 KRs
Gt 500 Stingers
FRPP GTAs - what I run
FRPP GTBs - Bullitts
GT Manual axle-backs
GT Automatic axle-backs

The GT500 axlebacks for the 2007-2009 models and maybe even the 2010 are the same as the stock 05-09 Mustang GT axlebacks. Also, the stingers are not generally refered to GT500 Stingers or GT 500 KRs but as Ford Racing Stingers or Ford Racing KR or FR500RS.

I am running the GTAs which are a nice improvement over the stock GTs. I frequently get compliments as thet are not stupid loud, but add a nice throatier tone! BTW, these are the same mufflers that come on the Shelby GTs.
