What is this '08 GT worth?
Hey guys, I've been looking at this Mustang for the last couple weeks. I test drove it and I love how it drives and looks. Only bad thing is I noticed some rust on the underside of the car. They're asking $19,990 for it, but I don't think it's worth quite that. What would be a reasonable offer? Would $18,000 be too high? They've had the car there for about 2 months I think? Maybe a bit less. And they just got a very nice '08 GT California Special which has less rust which they parked right next to it. So I'm thinking maybe that would somehow get me a cheaper price on it? Let me know what you think. Here's some pics I took of the rust and the actual car pics and info...

I paid $19000 canadian for my 2008 GT/CS with low miles and 0 rust. The prices you list sound alot high. Mine was loaded with every option and extended warranty/service plan to 100000 kms. Hope this helps.

PA + winter road treatment = rust
Every Stang that has seen even just rain has undercarriage rust. Same for just about EVERY assembly line, mass-production vehicle. The rust on the rotors will come off once the brakes are applied. That's just surface rust. They'll begin to rust when you wash the car and before you drive it.
I think you could offer them $16.5k and not go higher than $18k, assuming the car is in excellent shape otherwise.

That's normal rust and yes your rotors will rust before you dry your car after a wash. No biggie. You didn't mention miles on either car. What's up with the rear panel? Looks broken in the picture. Otherwise it's a good looking car. Two months on a dealers lot is never a good thing. Low ball them bigtime. Are you paying cash? Thats always good for negotiating. Offer them $15k and be firm. Tell them the car is rusty, boring but might be able to get you around. Dont be excited at all. Act bored and irritated. Remember they are the enemy trying to steal your money. Now the CA/GTs are freaking awesome.....how much do they want for that?
Bought mine Oct 09 it's a 06 gt with 16k miles. They were asking $24k. I got for $15,600. You are going to war not to make friends. Good luck.
