Default High pitch clicking sound coming from engine!

Hello everyone! REcently I painted my valve covers. After I placed them back I changed the oil like three days after. The valve covers where off the engine for like three days. After I changed the oil, this is what happenned that afternoon. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated on what this could be. A guy told me this could be a lifter.

That's pretty hard to diagnose from a video clip. I'd get a plastic tube or hose and stick it in my ear and try and identify exactly where that sound is coming from. Sounds under the hood can be deceiving and sound like they are coming from somewhere they are not. I personally have never heard a lifter that sounded like that, but my engine experience is with old 5.0 push rod motors. Are you sure there is not a loose bracket somewhere banging around at higher RPM? Loose belt, bad bearing starting to go? Sorry can't be more help.

Not that I can diagnose what the problem is, but the guy who told you it could be a lifter doesn't know what he is talking about. The 4.6 is an overhead cam motor...it doesn't have lifters.

I agree with Ford a Tude..that sounds like a belt or accessory bearing from listening to the clip.

Easy way to find out your problem.
Take it in to the dealer lol!

Often times especially with sounds that are hard to place, you will take forever trying to diagnose it yourself. Seriously, I'd just take it to the dealership and have them check it out. Be sure to point out the sound to them. Not just describe it.

What gets me is that the car has no performance loss at all. It's still smooth. This car hasn't even hit the track. I actually drive it like a grandpa with some occational slam on the gas pedal for some boost.

Is it easy to bypass the blower? It would be nice to rule it out by disconnecting it. I bet it something simple.

I am not sure what the high pitch squeal is when you get on it but I did notice your car seems to have a similar 'ticking' or 'clicking' noise at idle as mine does. You can feel it through the pedals.

I also have a Novi 2200 installed on my car. I am not sure if this is normal or not... I looked at a few youtube videos and didn't really hear it on other cars.

I am trying to figure out what it is... driving me crazy. I don't think the noise started until I threw a belt, and then threw another belt... hopefully no more belt throwing. I had to send the Novi 2200 in and have it rebuilt after that and it had a bad bearing... so there is a chance maybe they didn't fix it right or something...

I am thinking of just taking it to the dealership
