Default Would just a larger heat exchanger help my IAT's

Hello I have a 2.90 pulley and when the car was getting dynoed air temp was around 82 degrees and I was seeing around a 100-112 IAT's. I have since ordered a 2.80 pulley. I was thinkning about going with a larger heat exchanger ie, Steeda, Afco or Fluidyne to offest the added boost. Question would the larger heat exchanger be sufficent or would I need to upgrade my intercooler reservoir and pump? I have been told that the pd sc dont do well with meth injection.. I just dont want to throw money at it and not really see a drop in temperatures. They were suggesting to go with the battery in the trunk and place a larger intercooler reservoir were battery used to be... ... Thanks

The reservoir is only good for drag racing is that what you're doing? For hard street driving a bigger pump and heat exchanger are the way to go. The reservoir only holds temperatures down for a few seconds. To dissipate heat over time you need plenty of water flow and air flow to shed the heat into the air which is what your larger heat exchanger would do. For that you could run with no reservoir if it were practical which it isn't. I didn't mention making the intercooler bigger because there usually isn't any option but that would help too.

I forgot to mention air flow. The air flow is not well controlled in front of the heat exchanger so what happen the air takes the path of least resistance and spills over the edges rather than go through the core of the heat exchanger. What you want is a box in front of the heat exchanger so that any air that hits the front has to go through and can't just go off though the head light openings or the hood latch opening. A properly designed radiator/heat exchanger would have a completely sealed plenum in front going to the opening in the front of the car. Having a bigger grill opening doesn't help either a small grill opening is all you need if the air isn't spilling off the sides top and bottom.

Get the AFCO with dual fans. It will keep your IATs where they need to be.

I would only really be concerned with this is you were racing or while driving around the IAts got high enough to pull timing and therefor making your car run like crap. I have considered an AFCO but havent done it yet.

For the track I have a huge tank for ice, it helps on the street but not like a big heat exchanger does.

Interesting, my vortech has an upgraded heat exchanger to a take off Saleen one. It is about double the size/depth of the Vortech kit. Would that be considered a significant upgrade IAT cooling wise?
