The 5.0L with 3.73's and NON Brembo (diff wheels) will slightly beat or be even with Camaro in 1/4, add a road course with some nice turns and the 5.0L will dominate!

I've yet to see a new ss get out of the 13's at the drag strip I go to, and that's at sea level. I've seen more than 1 new 5.0 dip well into the 12s.

I raced a 2SS LS3 camaro from a dig when my car was bone stock. It wasn't close. 3 length easy by the top of 4th. We raced from a roll (taking launch out of it) same result, at no point did I stop pulling him. Stock the car ran 12.7 @ 114 on the Brembo pirellis

To be honest and unbiased, both cars are very even. Stck bs stock both will run the same. It all comes down to the driver. In the bids posted earlier inthe thread, I bet if you make the drivers switch cars, the camaro will winning.

Where are you ever gonna find a stock mustang? LOL

I have beat several slightly modded SS's. All were in the 13's.

I ran one a few weeks back when I had my car and the SS really didn't impress me at all. I didn't plan on racing but he took off so I had to see what my car could do. I'm not sure if it was an auto or MT because I was already past him before he shifted in 2nd.

The mustang has a pretty steep first gear compared to the Camaro if I'm not mistaken. If he took off first and you were already past him before he got out of first, methinks he may not have been going all out.

If you look at the power to weight ratio with all other things equal, the Mustang should win.

Mustang: 3605/412 = 8.75
Camaro: 3860/426 = 9.06

My 06 GT ran a 298 rwhp pull...I have taken 2 Camaro's and lost to another one each by about a fender...I have not been able to bait one in with my Snake ... I am thinking a 5.0 should take one rather easy...
