Without bore & stroke and with cams, LT's & porting/polishing, some of the S197 GT's have been around 350-360 RWHP; that's with about every bolt-on, plus HP free-up mod imagineable.

the most with H/C/I iv'e seen is just under 400whp. like 398. there is someone selling one for $20,000 that has 380 whp n/a.
kind of sad that with an intake+tune the new 5.0s are making that or maybe kind of awesome! yeah!!

Big valve cylinder heads and proper camshafts you can make 400RWHP, if you add the FRPP or C&L intake manifold you can make 430-440 however you will lose a lot of down low power but, being good camshafts require tall gears like 3.73 or 4.10 that will hardly be noticed.

Yea I saw a thread on another forum, the guy had Stage 3 Livernois Heads + Stage 3 Cams and L/Ts, he was pushing 380rwhp with stock intake manifold.
My plans include some Stage 3 Livernois Heads + Stage 3 Livernois Cams plus an FRPP intake manifold this spring. Will be pricey but will be so totally worth it.

a good engine for making and keeping power.
Just because the 5.0 is has new technology does not mean the 4.6 was a good engine to mod when it was in production for the S197.
Really Mishri, I have nothing against you however:
Are you intent on bashing everything now that you have your new 5.0?
You have been posting with that attitude quite a bit lately.
It is immature and getting rather obnoxious.

i have seen alot of 380s but i think if you go all out you could get it close to 500 , but i think its alot cheaper to just buy a s/c or turbo
exhaust intake , cams , stroke and bore it out , port and polish , new springs and valve springs for the heads , headers , bigger fuel injectors , bigger fuel pump and so on
one of my buddys has an ford racing intake , bbk throttle body , jlt cold air , race tune , long tube headers he told me he was pushing 380 , car is quick so i think its true

There is nothing sad about the 4.6 at all. It has been a good engine since it first came out and many owners have proven it has been
a good engine for making and keeping power.

Bump.
I'd like to actually see a dyno of some of these 380-400rwhp NA 4.6's. Thats about the same sort of power 5-6psi worth of supercharger produces. I need to know these secrets so I can help my pathetic m90 power
