I love happy ending lol! Shaftmasters has good customer service for sure. I got a friend with a restored 69 GTO and I told him to get with Dave at Shaftmaster. Dave hooked him up and my buddy is very happy.

Now...lets see how many tenths you drop at the track next time!

I'm really happy to hear it's working for you! Also glad to know Shaftmasters did so much to get it worked out right. Very cool.

I'm really interested to see the time diff on the track. I have heard like 2/10ths, but yet to see a slip yet.

Keep us updated

Fastdew, I hear ya. I would be surprised it I get two tenths but certainly wouldn't mind. Lol. The only bracket I can run this weekend is the 12.90 class, so getting a new PB prolly won't happen. We usually get three qualifying runs, I will blow out the first one and see what happens. After that I gotta race to win.

Timmbo, David at shaftmasters is the man. I can't begin to thank them enough as I was so frustrated after installing the first one twice with no luck. My mechanic friend whom I do all my modding with was equally done but David wouldn't give up and was sure the new design would work.

Default Pinion Angle measurement methods

Got the car back on ramps today and took some PA measurements. Shaftmaster has their way of of measuring it and J&M has their way of measuring it. I did both and came up with similar results. Shaftmaster says to make sure the car is level and then you take the reading from the pinion flange. No math just one number since the car is level.
J&M says to take the first reading from the "trans bell housing at the mounting surface to the engine" and then on the pinion flange. Subtract the pinion measurement from the trans one and theres your net PA. I took it both ways and got a -2.3 from the shaftmaster method and a -2.0 from the J&M method. Currently my UCA is set to all the way back, lots of room to adjust. No vibrations so I'm not worried.

If JDM uses them ( teamjdm.com ) I'm sold. Glad you posted this because after reading thru this thread I was gonna pass on this mod now I'll go ahead with it when I do my gear swap. Thanks!
