I was gonna say DONT DO IT. I recently just traded my 2010 GT in on a '12 WRX cause I wanted something that was more practical with kids and such. Thought this would be a good choice. I HATE THE CAR..The clutch it mushy, every time I hit the gas I am afraid the motor is going to s%it the bed and crack a ringland cause they all seem to. Subaru is useless and seems to try and fight people who have this problem even with a bone stock car..they try and point the blame. i have already decided i am trading it on a 13 GT in the spring

I've owned a WRX, and an SVT Focus.
If you start your car buying process mentioning the monthly payment and how it would be easy to do if all these financial contingencies can be met (roommate), perhaps this isn't the time to buy. Maybe just sleep on it, for a few months.

I purchased the 2012 Black GT linked to above ^^
I got a new job so money is no longer an issue. And with the two roommates I am actually not paying for my mortgage OR my property taxes (sky high in IL) they are both covered!
I am very happy with my purchase! I have not driven or ridden in a 3.73 car (or 3.55 for that matter) but I can tell the 3.31's take awhile to get through the gears BUT its nice being in a low rpm at cruising. I noticed the highway MPG drops significantly by just increasing a couple hundred rpm (75 vs 70 is worth a couple of mpg). I think I am ok with the 3.31's for now. I will probably get a tune/intake in the near future just to get the extra torque across the rpm range that most street tunes offer.

Kinda funny this thread came up. I just picked up a 12' STI, and so far am really enjoying it. A completely different animal from the Mustang, and I'm sure a 5.0 would be quicker in a straight line from the factory.
Honestly I imagine they're both awesome cars in their own way. If we didn't already have a Mustang, I would probably have gone for a 5.0 or Boss before the STi, but as it is now, I'm really enjoying the car. Could use an extra 100-200hp though .

Thanks! The mustang community is not only large but very supportive! It is awesome to get thumbs up and a wave-hello from guys driving gt500's and Boss's all the way down to old fox bodies!
I finally got my window tint done (legal limit in IL is now 35% all around which really is actually plenty...I had 20% on my last car and its a PITA at night).
I also painted my factory wheels black and now that im 90% murdered out I am getting compliments and thumbs up on pretty much every drive I make over 3-4 minutes. I get a LOT of looks! People really dig the new mustangs!
Everyone thinks the rims are powdercoated so I guess I did a decent job on them (there are a couple of tiny sags/runs in the clear as well as a little orange peel but its impossible to see unless you are within 1 foot of the rim in direct sunglight). One of these days I will get around to wet-sanding the clear and re-spraying them.
Now I Just need to do a light tint/clear on the tails and side/corner markers and I also plan to get a black billet grille (hidden fogs), black out the 5.0 emblems and paint the calipers and I will be set for awhile! Some think the all-black is played out but I cant get enough of that look! Very stealthy too.
