Default Looking for first ride.

I have decided to get my first Mustang. I am looking at 07 or newer GT models. Anything I should be aware of or stay away from? Dealer here has an 07 listed at 20K. I know that price will come down if I show up. Looks fairly stock except for radio. Just wanted some advice before I go out with checkbook

Thanks.

Check the lip of the hood for bubbling paint (when you pop the hood!). It's notorious on our stangs due to improper prep before paint at the factory. Also be sure to check to be sure the drivers side window trim isn't cracked. I've seen it happen a lot so it's worth checking into. Look to see if the seat levers are still in place because mine weren't and look to see if there is a plenium cover on your engine(07+). Can't really think of anything else. I love my stang, have had nothing but a great experience with it but make sure you look into the TSB's and know your vehicle. Get a CAI and tune right away...you'll be happy you did!

I would check the smell inside, any water, mildew smell. Water getting inside of the stangs was a problem with 2005 models.
Check the mods that the mustang has, is it stock = better, or are there a lot of Mods = used hard? or a great deal with mods installed.
Check out the engine during the test drive.
You can also down load what the different year Mustangs came equipped with so you know what your buying in comparison.

Deals will be out there, just compare condition of car VS miles VS price

I noticed your in MD. I live somewhat close in southwest pa and I just picked up a 2007 GT Premium w/ manual tranny for $17,500 with only 25k miles on it. The deals are out there. It was listed for $20k at the dealership, but the salesman told me they got a good deal on it and didn't want it sitting around since winter was coming. Best of luck! So far no problems with mine.

Listen for a front end clunk at low speeds. Mid 08's have the new head design (no two pice spark plugs). As always check for uneven tire where, over spray and signs accident.
