Boss 302 or modify existing 11 GT brembo

To any of you that havent driven this car you have no clue what you are talking about, and you can mod a gt all you want..... it's still just a gt, and you can mod a Boss to do anything a GT can do and then some. As far as the price...throw in the internal engine components, the maniflod, the Recaro seats, the Trosen differential, the P-Zero tires (285 out back), the adjustable shock damping system, and that Track Key tune (which has been approved), and you aren't saving any money doing that to a GT, if you do it ain't much.

Not looking to cause more internet turmoil.
Whiskey...that is quite an extensive list of parts thank you for taking the time to post it.
The Boss is a really great car and there is definitely something special about it. Plus, when the factory does it they generally know what they are doing and will warranty it.
It's pretty exciting that Ford has come through with such great cars. My euro car buddies don't like their favorite brands getting beat by a Mustang...lol!!!

However, most people looking to improve the handling of their S197s are looking for a reasonable improvement per dollar, without ruining the ride comfort of their car. If this describes you, here's what I would suggest:
lower control arms:

upper control arm with mount:
http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-u...street-11.html
adjustable panhard bar:

panhard brace:

lowering springs:

Your choice of dampeners. (I'd go with Koni yellows with GT500 strut mounts)
And last but most certainly not least, a good set of wheels and tires. You could do like I did and run a set of 275/40-18 Nitto NT05s all the way around, or if you wanted to step up a little you could put those Nittos on a set of street wheels, and put a set of R-compound tires on your factory rims for track days.
I can assure you that with the above mods (especially the r-compound tires), you could show a BOSS your tail lights around the corners.
Moving on from there, here are some other ideas...
For braking, you might consider some Hawk Quiet Slot rotors and Hawk HPS pads. They're 100% streetable, but a big improvement over the OEM pieces.
For added power,
You could go with our CAI/Tuner combo:
http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-s...ackage-11.html
and our x-pipe:
http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-o...x-pipe-11.html
^^those power mods will exceed the 32hp different between your GT and a BOSS.
If you want to get super slick, FRPP should have the BOSS Recaro seats available by now. Additionally, the FRPP splitter will give you that Laguna Seca look. (if desired)
So, like I said in my previous post, you could exceed the BOSS 302 performance with a car that you wouldn't be leery of abusing on the track or daily driving on the street. Point being, I wouldn't mind having a BOSS 302 myself (I'd actually choose a GT500) but I'd hate to drive it every day, or mod it, or beat the crap out of it on the racetrack. However, I'm quite content to do so with the GT that I currently own.
Also, you avoid the situation of having to take a beating on the depreciation by trading your 11 GT in on the BOSS. Win-win.
So that's it. Just my humble (but educated) opinion.

If you can afford to upgrade to a Boss 302, then I say do it. But if I were to get a hold of a Boss, I would leave it as stock as possible, no mods for such a limited production car in my garage.
Now, if you are into modding and your preference is performance track, and you intend to drive it like that, you can actually mod and upgrade your current ride into one that is as good or even superior to a Boss 302.

It's all relative. Boss's handle well, but not as well as the $15k Griggs setup, as previously stated. But is that your ultimate goal? Will you be attending HPDEs on a regular basis? If so, you may want to drop the cash on a Griggs or Agent 47 setup. With that type of suspension and the right tires, you'll be able to blow the doors off of a stock BOSS with ease.

Much to think about, thanks guys!

Thanks. It's just one guy's opinion, but I hope I added some perspective to your GT vs. BOSS dilemma. I'm sure you'd be happy either way, but in your shoes I'd just mod the GT!
