Default TR 3650 Build

Hey, guys, new to the forums, first post, woot. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone put a powerglide or did a manual transmission build in the tri state area on the TR 3650 transmission. I have quite a few mods, and the stock trans is just not holding up. Any pointers/links/information would be greatly appreciated!

My car may the only one on these types of forums that has the 2 speed automatic glide. It's a dragrace car only now. Had to fashion custom brackets and of course a GM yolk for the driveshaft. Car is not streetable. Don't think you would want the glide unless it is for racing only. Before that car had 4r70w. That is streetable and built for transbrake launches.

The glide is way way lighter, simpler, and easy to upgrade/refresh. Pic of glide with skattershield. Rated at about 1000 rear wheel + transbrake launches. The glide was put together locally, the 4r came from FB Performance, Bay Shore, N.Y.

Default Any Thoughts

Thanks for the input guys. And yeah, definitely looking to keep the car streetable and definitely stick... I've been hearing about these T3550 transmissions after further research. Anybody heard of them/know someone who put one in/know of a place in NJ (or aroundabouts) that does it? I like modding my car myself, but transmissions are the only thing I don't touch (internals anyway). I'll have to look at the cobra transmissions, any idea if they are an easy swap or do I have to change most of the driveline + mounts? Thanks guys!

There are a number of companies that mod the 3650 for more horse power. Liberty in Michigan, American Powertrain, and G-force.
