Default Catalytic Converters

I've heard for years that you can't run an exhaust system that has no cats or mufflers, that the "mod" motors need some back pressure so you either have to run with cats or mufflers?? Has anybody else heard this or have any tech to back up anything?? Just curious??

I drove from my garage to the exhaust shop with nothing but open headers. And it sounded like complete ****. As far as cats I have non, but I do have mufflers. Straight pipes on a 3v motor sounds awful. Dont go there.

Straight back with Bombs or Stingers sounds pretty sick IMO, but having it just a straight out pipe with nothing does sound sloppy. Unless you cam the hell out of it.

I don't think there's too many engines that sound good with full-on straight pipes. They usually just sound raspy and ****ty.

I know that every 05-09 I've heard with muffler deletes pretty much sounded like crap. Resonators aren't bad though, at least that's something.

A mid muffler, glass pack style system sounds the best to me. straight through mufflers after the axle cause to much drone. Removing the cats makes to much noise.

I tried two other axle backs before trying the pypes mid muffler and I won't try anything else.

Somebody has hotrod cams, catless, glass packs, and dumps before the rear axle.

Arguably the best sounding car on here

And he's pretty new lol

Not something I want to hear driving through my neighborhood. There's a fine line between sounding good and noise.
