Default engine ticking noise

Hi,

when I was driving home on the freeway yesterday my engine suddenly started to make a loud ticking noise. It sounds like this one here:

I have a Ford Bullitt air intake with a Brenspeed tune. Tomorrow I have an appointment at the Dealership. Should I bother switching the intake with the stock air box?
I think I have 2 months left on my Powertrain Warranty. Wouldn't that cover problems with the engine?

Most likely you're hearing what Ford considers the "normal" injector ticking (discussed in one of the TSB's).

But it wasn't there for 5 years, it just started yesterday

Oh, and is it possible to find out that I had a custom tune installed after I go back to stock tune?

So the problem is that a rocker arm is loose. They will fix it under powertrain warranty. But I am really wondering how something like that can happen to an engine with 50.000 miles on it. Doesn't sound good to me.

also the rocker arm damaged an intake at #4 cylinder, lifter was stuck and the camshaft damaged.
This doesn't really speak for the quality of the engine.
I never raced or drove the car very hard.

Well, just thank GOD you have some kind of warrantee! It's sad to say **** happens and it happened to your baby. Again just feel lucky that you discovered it with a warrantee. Like the six million dollar man they will rebuild it , stronger, faster, better than before.

But chit DOES happen, unfortunately it was to the OP. But since this is the only instance that I've heard of this I suspect it's an outlier and not an indication of a bad design. It would be nice to have a post-mortum performed but Ford won't spend the money on an.... "older"... design.
