Ball joints, sway bar bushings and links, and struts are the most common causes of front end clunking.

Son drove the car this week and has made the deal for it. Said the interior wasn't as clean as he'd like for it to have been but no mention of musty odor or wet floor boards. The car has been in Hawaii all it's life........said it drove good and the only issue he found was it looks like the front valance has been drug on parking bumper or something and appears to be torn loose.......

Very cool, mine will show some scraping underneath as well I'm sure. My carfax shows a sealant and painted notation , at the dealer right after delivery from the factory.....dec 05. Anyone think this is the leak issue being repaired??

I bought a used '06 GT convertible in 2009 with 27K miles on it. Now have 47k miles with no problems at all. Have gotten 26 mpg at 70 mph and 28 mpg at 60 mph on long interstate drives.

It is parked inside and not driven in the rain much so water leakeage not likely. Have had no problem filling the gas tank. Have not tried to remove spark plugs. Do have a little squeaking in the top when car flexes, but not a worry to me.

Fun car.

I did a pretty thorough pretrip (I bought her) No wetness, dry as a bone, Car was detailed and washed, so I know there is no issue here. I raise the front tires and found no defects, ball joints good, sterring tight. I'm happy with the purchase, as is the op's son!. Great car!

I second that, the infamous passenger side water leak is the reason i got rid of my '06. It kept causing electrical problems in the fuse panel which is in the passenger side footwell.
