Another thing I noticed about the noise coming from my rear axle, is that I can only hear it after doing any spirited driving. If I'm just driving normally, and take turns everything sounds fine. But if I get on the throttle aggressively, then slow down to take a turn (non-aggressively), I can hear the scraping noise. Once again, only when making left hand turns.

you check to see if one of your brake calipers wasn't locked up?

Weird thing for me. Mine stock DS didnt make any noise at all. I tried an aftermarket one and could never get rid of the vibration and went bock to the stocker. Now the stocker makes all kind of noise. LOL I'll take clunking over vibration everyday.

My money is on the clutch packs in the rear end (add some of Ford's friction limiter to the rear before tearing it down) or brakes.

gear lube change and /or bearings.........My money is on the right side bearing(s). when turning left the right side bears more weight in the turn.
