Default Baby gets new shoes

Hope to get a set of 235 50 18 Michelin Super Sports on my '06 GT this week. Can't wait. Every report I see on this new tire is over the top.

Yeah, the reviews on tirerack look great but then again, that's only based on a mere 500,000 reported miles. Given Michelin's rep, though, I'm sure they'll prove to be an excellent choice. But even with MY deep pockets, $1000 in rubber is a bit steep for my style of non-DD driving with the Stang. Let us know how they fare.

They are only slightly more expensive than cheaper lesser quality tires , so imo its definatly worth it to spend $ for good tires if you care about performance at all. Tires are very important in alot of areas, and they last like 30k miles- i think they actually have a 30k mile warrantee, for me thats like 3.5 years.. Definatly would spend money on tires if they are staying on for 30k miles.

they are also 10% lighter than most other brands of tire in the same size.

I will be getting pilot super sports when i can .. i have these stock p zero neros which are probably no where near as good. (treadware 400 = very little grip, especially if its below like 60 degrees)

Pilot super sports come on ferrari 599 gto's and other supercars.

Hankook Evo Ventus... I've gotten 30k out of mine and through Discount Tire I got them for $740 installed.

They are very quiet, have great lateral grip and handle well in the wet... but if you have big HP, don't expect them to be a pseudo drag radial.
