Good idea to install new TPS sensors at same time as new tires?

Default Good idea to install new TPS sensors at same time as new tires?

Hello all. I have a 2007 GT that I'm putting new tires on this spring. Is it recommended that I replace the TPS sensors or their batteries while the tires are being installed. I'm looking to be as proactive as possible to prevent trouble down the road. Thanks in advance for your help.

those batteries last a minimum of 5-6 years. I wouldn't worry about it. the set on my 2004 lincoln are still going strong after 7 1/2 years. if you want to err on the side of caution go ahead, but I would wait until your next set of tires.

I wouldn't worry about it until the sensor fails, it can be costly to buy new sensors and new straps. It's not that difficult to remove a tire and reinstall and balance if a sensor requires replacement.

The batteries are lithium and non-replacable.
The expected life is 10 years in Fords eyes.
They only 'wake-up' and report tire pressures
when the vehicle is rolling. So ibattery life is
related to mileage and not time.

Leave them off and ignore/reset the 'low tire' messages

You can get universal type bands to hold the TPS sensors from AM for a fraction of the price tire shops charge for band!
