Your dealer told you this, didn't they.

Put that stick down; you'll poke someones eye out.

Put a hat on; you'll catch pneumonia.

Don't drive WOT; you'll void your warranty.

And 10 seconds is a long time to be WOT, assuming you lift between shifts, only the overdrive gears may allow a WOT pull longer than 10.
no 10 seconds isn't a long time at all. the 1/4 mile stock in yours and his car is in the 13 second range. mine would be 12 second range.

Nope whoever told him that is full of ****..

WRONG! totally wrong. no way would they or could they void the warranty for it based on that. Legally they'd have to honor the warranty for a WOT pull in any vehicle... They can't even void the warranty in the GTR for that, although they will if you use launch control in the GTR. but that is an optional mode and it states that warranty wont be covered when using that mode. but that is the only stock vehicle warranty void i've ever heard of.

I was just saying if you lift momentarily on gear shifts, then your 1/4 is not completely at full throttle, you'd only be at full throttle through each gear, and at least in my car (right now) the only gear I can stay at full throttle for more than 10 seconds before hitting the redline is 5th... and then only with the speed limiter turned off. (but I'm not quite stock either).

I agree that the statement by the dealer was BS.
Some of the 11+ cars may have a design issue in the fuel rail that expresses itself when WOT for extended times, but they can't void your warranty over it.

You wont be running any record 1/4 mile passes if you are lifting

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powershifting

whats the point of seeing how fast you can go if you are granny shifting?
