Default New from DC w/ questions

Hey enthusiast,

My name is Anthony I am 22 years old living in Washington DC. I am from Pittsburgh, PA but I am stationed here (Air Force)

I currently have a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR but it should be sold on Monday the March 19th.

I am looking to get into a 2013 5.0, White and I need some feedback.

1: Should I get the 3.73 gears?
2: What is a price I should be paying with no options or with 3.73 gears?
3: Where is the best place to buy a Mustang. (for Evos a dealership in Cali gives the best deals BY FAR, is there any Ford dealers worth the trip?)

This will be my 5th car and I am only 22 . I get bored with cars very easy. My first car was a hand me down a 2001 Lincoln LS, 2nd car was a Graduation present a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T, 3rd car I bought was a 2008 Cobalt SS/TC, 4th car and current car I bought was a 2011 Mitsu Lan Evolution GSR

I miss the v8 roar and the feel of the rear end breaking loose. I am hoping I will keep the 5.0 for at least 3+ years.

I am looking to buy in June-August, I want to put a nice down payment down on the car so my payments are low and I can mod it a little bit.

Pics of old cars:

Welcome to MF! I would recommend going with the 3.73s.

100% go with the 373 gears..base with 373 gears should list for no more than 29000 or so. From what I understand there are quite a bit of people sneaking in the 26000 range with current incentives etc. So if you dont need a lot of bells and whistles its one hell of an engine for that price range.

go check out USAA's car-buying service. They'll help you get a decent price, and help you find it locally. If you're not a USAA member, though, you really need to be.

DAMN! Nice GSR.

Yes, I respect many cars, not just Stangs. Definitely go for the 3.73's. As for pricing, sorry, I'm not sure.

OP, I live in the DC metro area as well and have had a few cars myself. I bought my 2011 GT/CS at a dealership in Tysons Corner. They gave me a great deal on it but, like every dealership, they made me work for it. For frame of reference, it stickered at $37+ and I got it at around $30 out the door. I've had it for about 18 months now and have had no issues. I got the 373s and like them but I don't know if they are really needed. They make 1st gear very short. If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would change is I would be to add a glass roof.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, looks like since the 13s are coming out all the incentives are dying off for them....

I spoke to 3 local dealers and they are ALL trying to hit me with a 30k+ for the 13' 5.0 so looks like I will be waiting a while for a better deal or incentives... until then I will just be lurking on the forums learning as much as possible.

I see it as I have more time to save money for a nice down payment!
