Default First Performance Mod Arrived Today!

Based on many opinions read on this fine board, I placed my order through AmericanMuscle.com last Thursday, and it arrived today:

I'm pretty excited to get it set up, and will have the CAI installed and custom tune loaded on Tuesday.

I'll give a quick report then.

I remember when I put on the Steeda CAI and Bamatunes 93P tune, people weren't kidding when they said it will really wake up the car. I have this odd feeling you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, in Maine only 91 octane is available, so I'll try loading the Race tune first. If I don't like it, I'll try the Performance tune. My guess is the Race tune will be fun.

We have 92 octane here and the 93 tune pinged under heavy load. The 91 octane tune is fine.

You'll definitely love it. On the street I generally like the performance tune the most. The race tune has great throttle response, but does make it easier to spin and honestly at the track it was slightly slower than my performance tune (with similar 60' times, my mph was about 0.5-1 mph off). The street tune is also great. I use that as an economy tune with 87 octane and it still has better performance than stock.

Even with your tank filled with the 91 octane, I suggest you load the 87 tune (if you ordered one with the three tunes) and see how that feels first by doing an "aggressive" drive, then step up in octane and repeat the drive. You'll be surprised at not just the performance differences but the characteristics of each tune. They DO vary, in some cases significantly. My 93 tune is a beast if I'm running hard in the upper RPM range but a bit of dog driving easy around town. My 89 tune suits my style of driving and is loaded about 95% of the time.

It's the first chance I'll have time to spend with it and take it for a drive.

That's interesting the performance tune was faster. We'll see what happens tomorrow!

Thanks for the input, everyone.
