Default Need some quick insight

So I am about to buy a 2006 gt and I have 2 sellers to choose from.

1. 2006 black gt, clean body, clean interior, aftermarket exhaust and rims. 500 shaker system, 21000 miles. 19500$ (old lady, husbands car he passed and her son is influencing her and they wont budge on price)stick shift

2.2006 black with red stripe gt, its been outside for a month or more now, stock rims and tires, small chips in paint on hood and idk where else. 102.000 miles. automatic 12000$

Which one is the better buy, they both have clean carfaxes.

19.5k for a 2006 is way too much. I tried sellnig my 2007 with 27k miles on it for $15,000 for 3 months, and i had a shaker 500, interior upgrade, automatic, window louvers, side stripes, shorty antenna, 4.10 gears, cai, brenspeed tune, cmdps, udps, boomtube exhaust. I traded it in on the 2012 for 14k.

if you find one with mods already go for it, the 4.6L 3-valve is a solid engine with bolt-ons. just check the brakes and suspension.. engine/transmission will be fine as long as they didn't totally mistreat it.

Don't buy one with more than 50k on the clock unless you plan a full rebuild or it's dirt cheap. I would also caution you on 2005-early 2007. most have a water leak issue. Would take about a day to fix yourself. Also, 2007+ had revised heads (sparkplug threading), throttle position sensor, shocktowers, and a few other parts.

I paid $19k last September for my 2005 GT, premium edition convertible with a brand new 20" Shelby Redline and Toyo Proxes 4 tire combo, axelback replacement, smoked rear tails, and Ford Bullet grill and in great condition. I wanted my color combo which is nearly impossible to find so I paid a little more than I wanted for 38,000 miles. Dealerships locally had two similar over the course of a year and they were both asking $20k+ in lower condition.

Where are you located? How long do you plan to own this car? What are your intentions with the car once purchased?

My location is Cannon AFB New mexico and almost all of my driving will be on base, probably less then 10k miles a year, a lot less. I'm leaning more towards the one for $12k because it has all the same specs as the one for $19k, Including the shaker 500 system. Only difference is it's an automatic.

The rims on the $19k are hideous and they don't have the originals, the $12k does have the original rims which I like. I'm not looking to throw a ton of aftermarket parts and money into it, and I don't plan on racing it, I just love mustangs.

The $12k one has 81,000 more miles on it. Also, if you have a preference for transmission type, go for that. Swapping can be more expensive than buying it in the first place. Manuals are faster and lighter than the automatic.

There are a ton of clean Mustangs for sale around here. Try to get a plane to Dover AFB and talk them in to flying it back. You guys must have some transport flights in for parts

I wouldnt buy either of them. There are way better deals out there. I bought my 06 GT Auto with 16k miles for $15.5 in 2009. Pass on them and keep looking.
