I am looking to put torque on the ground, not much else. I want watered-down drag type performance in a car that's still easy to handle on the street. Thanks everyone for the welcomes

Sweet on the full college ride brother thats awesome. If torque is what you want then just do a steeda CAI and a tune. thats the easiest thing going. The boss intake does rob low end torque a bit so doesn't seem to fit with what you what. Camshafts do the same. Headers and an x-pipe can do the same for you with the torque thing though that can get a little expensive. Do some research on a one piece aluminum drive shaft. Not to terribly expensive and it will help you put some more torque to the ground..What gears are you running?? That can have an effect as well.

In that case, I should trim my toenails; they're scratching my tonsils...

The 5.0 responds quite well to a CAI & custom tune. It yields roughly 40 RWHP over stock which is about the biggest bang for the buck unless you go FI or spend $$ on intake, cams and LT's in which case you'll need the tune anyway.

Whereabouts in MS? I recently moved from the Vicksburg area after a 1/1/2 year field assignment.

C&L or JLT CAI, and most places tune the Mustang with SCT tuner.
throw some axle backs in there while you're at it!!!

From one college boy modding to another:

If your in college and you want to mod your mustang, Pick up 40 or so hours a week working. Also try to Make money providing parties and charge per cup and stop sleeping because coffees just as good. Be as stinggey as possible with money. Sell some homework like the guy in grease. Don't waste your mod money in gas. Is prostitution legal where you are? Then supercharge for most bang for all the money you'll have. Or buy some stuff every few weeks to keep the HP buzz going longer like CAI tune exhaust cams(or not depending on how much you drive)

Hanging out with people who don't know cars will help while you're stock but once you put money in, find people who will appreciate it and stick by them.
