Default Do 5.4 headers (shorty) fit on my 4.6

I was given headers made for a 5.4 but was told they will fit ony 05 gt, being that the heads are the same? I'm going to bring to an exhaust installer at the first chance I get but figured I ask here there are no model numbers or tags on them, they are fully polished stainless steel, so no markings or anything on them that I have seen

Well, considering there was no 5.4 Mustang in '05 they are probably for a truck. The first 5.4 Mustang was the GT500 in 2007.

Correct they were for a truck, they were never installed but the guy giving them to me is saying they are pretty sure they are the same set up as far as headers and should bolt right on, I figured I shoot post here and see if someone can answer my question

i think they will bolt up BUT you might have other issues with alignment and such.

And if they don't work I've got a set of JBAs shorties in my garage waiting for a new home. Shoot me a pm if interested.

Doesn't the 5.4 have a taller deck height? If so, the header tubes would at least end up with less ground clearance when bolted up to the slightly shorter engine.

It would suck to get one side of only to realize the replacement does not fit, then have to wrestle that thing back on...

I wouldn't want to go through the labor and expense involved just to find out "if" they fit.

My guess would be they're for a truck meaning they probably won't fit right on your car anyway.
