Default Which SCT Tuner?

Have been thinking about getting a tuner for sometime now, just don't know which one to get. Should I get the SF3/X3 or the livewire tuner? Either way will most likely will be purchasing from american muscle, I buy all my mustang stuff from them.

The cheapest one will load a tune just as well as the most expensive. Unless you want the bells and whistles, just get the X3.

I was looking at tuners, thought how cool it would be to have a shift light, touch screen, etc. But then I realized that I would have to leave it plugged in all the time. I'm a pretty big guy, didn't need a cord to get tangled up in. I went with the SF3/X3. Bought my car used and didn't know if it was tuned or not. Loaded the 91 Race tune (probably leave it in cause I drive like a maniac). Bumped me from 104 to 106mph in my unscientific 1/4 mile.

You can also look into the SCT iTSX wireless tuner, it works on iPad, iPhone, Android devices. If not just get the X3

Thanks for the quick responses... I was thinking about the livewire because it stays plugged in and of all the extra stuff it could do. A guy on craigslist is willing to sell me his for $250 and once I paid for the tunes it would cost the same as the X3... But how accurate do you think it is.. It says it can est torque and hp etc

We can estimate HP and torque, too, except probably just a wee bit less accurately.

The performance of the car is going to be the same, regardless. If you can get a more expensive tuner for the same or the better price than a cheaper one, go for it. I have an xcal2, with basically no features. Would I pay more to get a more featured one? no way. There are other things I could spend my money on that will actually make a difference as far as how fast my car is.

Yes, I've had to go back and forth between tuned and not several times due to some issues with my PCM. Definitely get a tune
