WHAT THE FACK?

I had NO clue anything like this was going on.
But in one way it seems weird only three cases that I can find on this have been posted.

Three out of the whole friggin world?
If it was a real problem wouldn't you guys think it would be more widespread than that? I mean it's possible by all means but I would think the forums would be loaded with cases. At least ten or so at minimum. But who knows. I might just be thinking out of my ***.

Still could have been arson.
Regardless, with all the tools they have now days to root out what causes a fire, I'd have the fire department examine that thing MAJORLY to try to find out the cause.

I am DEFINITELY glad you were not in the car when this happened.
This SUCKS MAJORLY no matter what the cause of the fire, but thank goodness you and your loved ones are o.k.!

Anyone else noting that all these fires are outside?

Real issues all start with postings so its hard to tell, but the info so far doesn't really point to a factory defect more so than man made....

Guys the fire marshal already ruled out the possibility of it being arson, i'm in the process of speaking to Ford about it hopefully they do the right thing. Thank you all for being mature about this situation unlike everyone over at s197forum.

He couldn't narrow it down further aside from just eliminating that? Nice to know of course, but I would have thought he could at least point to something other than the obvious battery/short run of said cable that started the main fire.

Good to get your updates on this as it progresses. We are all quite curious.

WHOA!!! This is the 3rd thread I came across with someone's 5.0 catching fire!!!
It's a good thing you don't have it parked inside a garage, otherwise, the whole house and car could have burnt down.

Yeah, did the other threads happen outside too??

Amazing factoid so far that these are all outside... Seems very kinda counter intuitive.

Isn't it odd that none of these fires happened when someone was in the car? Right after starting the vehicle? Or while driving it?

Maybe I am missing something, but fires are usually caused by damage from road debris or an accident, modifications and then failure from the factory.

It takes alot of spark to start a fire under the hood.

Just a thought.
