Without any knowledge of previously performed maintenance, here's what I'd do off the top of my head. Others feel free to chime in as I probably overlooked a few items:
- oil/filter change
- fuel filter replacement
- TB cleaning
- MAF cleaning
- replace serpentine belt
- coolant flush/refill
- tranny flush/refill
- radiator hose replacement
- rear diff flush/refill (don't forget the friction modifier)
- check brakes
- check wheel bearings
- air filter replacement (or clean and reoil if it's that type)
- new plugs

Although I haven't changed mine, a number of folks have gone with synthetic tranny and rear diff fluid. I'm a big fan of Amsoil (I use many of their products for other applications including the Stang's crankcase oil) and others like Royal Purple.

Purple Puke is way over priced for what you get.
You might as well be buying Wal-Mart branded fluids for half as much.
I used Amsoil through out.
Top them up to the bottom of the fill plugs.
The diff came with synthetic lube OEM and
was good for 100,000 miles. Time to replace it.
The manual tranny came with ATF OEM and probably
really needs a changing.
You really need to do a top to bottom inspection
of EVERYTHING and repair/replace whats damaged.
If the owner cant remember whats been done it
probably has never been touched until something
went wrong. No preventative maintenance has ever
been done. Is the Owners Manual still intact? If so,
the recommended service intervals and places to
record it having been done is in there. Personally I
would have fully assessed the situation "I cant remember"
maintenance situation BEFORE buying but what the hey...
If its worth doing, its worth recording is my motto.
BTW be mighty careful of the new plug install
they are known to break off in the head as they are long reach plugs

Yea with something other than the 198 degree OEM like a 174 degree unit.
My 07 V6 has a 175 degree thermo in it and
runs at 175 degrees.
And no more of this no cooling fan until 200+ degrees.
I bypassed that silly PCM fan temp logic with my own
185 ON / 175 OFF thermo switch in the upper radiator hose.
