Cardinal Rule about Modifications:
Just because someone put x amount of extras on the car, doesn't make it worth it, just makes it harder to sell (not my words, I'm quoting the guys in the Off Topic Section here - but its the truth.)
I learned the hard way with a 91 5.0. Had 15K in it, it got totaled, insurance paid the max: 8K. The high dollar performance parts survived - and people have been trying to buy the wrecked car off me for $500.00 bucks. The custom interior cost 1300.00, the performance parts alone 2500.00.
Also - considering you are someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with cars, I'd strongly recommend looking into a stock GT, maybe a premium (loaded out). Then add on as you gain confidence and experience. Start with easy stuff, work your way into more difficult mods as time goes by. There's nothing more rewarding than doing modifications yourself, after all. But also, if you dive off into a car like the one in your post, and something goes wrong with it, you may end up paying big bucks to have it fixed since you yourself won't know how to work on it.
Also, the insurance on a car like the one in your post may be astronomical. IDK. But that should certainly be a consideration, as well as "will a bank loan this much money on this car?". My guess is no.
Good luck!

It's a tough question. What someone thinks one car is worth another will not agree. I just picked up a 2006 Stage 2 Roush, that had the stage 3 supercharger installed, for $27,000 and it only had 7,400 miles on it. The wife liked liked it and I thought the price was great. If you like it then get it, but Batenswytch said is true. It's really nice being able to choose your own mods and do them yourself. I'm betting you can find a new 2012 5.0 Premium around the same price with rebates and you'll have a warranty. I have a 2012 and have done all the mods myself and it's very rewarding knowing that I did them. In the long run, if it's what you are looking for then go for it.
