Default Bought car on ebay - picking up this weekend - cant drive stick =D

So I just bought my first car and its a standard transmission mustang GT that I bought on ebay.

I'm picking it up this weekend and I've never driven a manual before

I had a friend who was going to help me out and let me learn quick on his car (I don't suspect it should take long to learn), but he's bailed out on me a few times and I don't think he's going to be around tomorrow.

How embarrassing is this going to be when I try to drive away in this thing?

Will post pics when I get her

Hey congrats on the car. My suggestion, have someone else drive the car home if possible. You'll be real embarrassed if you're on a slight incline and roll back into a car at a stop light. At least find an empty parking lot so you can get some practice in.

Going out on the road with other cars around you is not a good place to learn how to drive stick. Find someone or pay someone to drive it home for you. Every person is different in how long it takes to learn.

Really, really? The stock clutch is pretty easy to learn on, but I wouldn't start learning in the driveway of the previous owner.

Got a link to the car you bought?
Was it a smooth transaction? Was the payment handled (In person / Paypal / Etc.)

Well I was just going to ask the guy where there was a parking lot and spend about an hour there before heading back.

I don't really have much of a choice.

I should mention that I have about 1 hour of experience in a parking lot on an 05 GT (my dad used to have one) about 6 years ago, but I dont remember putting much effort into it although I don't remember struggling that much either.

I think I'll be fine honestly

Paypal deposit. Bank Check in person. He's letting me bring a mechanic even though the auction is already over just to be sure everything was accurate.

I'm not concerned about the ebay aspect of it. I've bought and sold stuff on ebay for a while and I'm 99.9% confident that the deal is fine.

I'm just concerned about getting it home
