Default Opinions please. New SVT Rearend or Eaton TrueTrac and Axles?

I was about to buy the SVT Boss 302 rear end assembly with the 3.73 gears. Then someone suggested i run an Eaton TrueTrac Limited Slip and moser or superior axles (superior has a life-time warranty) and the ford racing 3.73's.

If I am going to be running a Magnum 6sp and 650 rwhp, will the SVT rear hold up to whatever I throw at it? I will never be doing 6000 rpm clutch dumps with slicks.

I may run Nittos all around the next set with the street slicks in the rear.

I drive the car hard, but always pull off the gas when i shift.

Or should I just have my rear built? The ford racing kit comes with the GT500 pinion bearing.

The total price difference is only $200 more for the Eaton, but then I don't have the stock rear to sell.

All opinions are welcome.

Def. That was the first one I wanted. Probably a permanant solution. In the grand scheme of things that $580 more is not alot.

It has a lifetime warranty, like the superior axles...

Need to find that money I buried...

I take it, putting down >450rwhp or so, it's ideal to replace the axle with an aftermarket 31 or a 33 (as well as the trans as a given)?

This seems like something that would give some serious gain for the price-tag, esp in conjunction with other suspension work.

Found notes on this...interesting..http://www.moserengineering.com/aitd...itfile_id/177/

$1400 for the svt rear axle fully assembled? I just might do that myself. It'll cost me at least $500 just to go back to 3.55's, add in a new trutrac and I'm almost to the cost of a whole axle.

Is there still a market for a used 8.8, so I could always sell mine or practice my gear installs.

I think you'll be fine with the svt rear. Isn't that what the new gt500 is running?

I've had the pleasure of getting some seat time in a 800+ rwhp GT500 equipped with the wavtrac and I can assure you that nothing short of a spool will hook as well on the track, and nothing short of an open differential will go as effortlessly through turns. It really is the best of both worlds. For now, my stock rear end has handled everything I can throw at it, but when she pops, I'm going straight for the wavtrac.

I am leaning towards the wavetrac now. I bought my axles and gears last night. I will buy the differential and m-4210-C3 install kit from summit. That kit comes with the SVT pinion bearing. The only other thing needed is the correct gear fluid for the wavetrac and the ABS rings.

I am spending about $5500 on my tranny. I dropped over $700 in just alcantara. Why am I even thinking about buying the WaveTrac lol. So now I will be $42,500 not $42,000 in mods into the car.
