Common. My hood raises in the middle so much at traps speeds that I'm scared it's gonna fly off... but it hasn't yet, so I wouldn't worry.

Hood shake is pretty common on the S197 as Diabolical! states. You can adjust the bushings on the left and right front corners by adjusting the one side (first) that seems to be the worst (unless both sides are shaking bad) about 1/4 turn up at a time. I was able to eliminate mine that way. Others have resolved it by putting one-sided tape insulation above the headlights to reduce the amount of airflow getting under the hood and causing the lift.

Do you have a custom grill? That'll certainly cause it, the stocker is blocked off everywhere except for the middle.

Anyone know if the 2013 GT vented hoods eliminate or at least mitigate this problem? Planning a day trip to Summit Point in W.V. and don't want to have the hood fluttering suddenly start up when going down the straightway at 100+...

Hood pins are good piece of mind. Hood struts are debatable.

Its Jesus telling you to slow down

Hood shake is just part of owning a 05-09 Mustang with a stock hood. It wont fly off.. just freak out your passenger
