My New Mustang came to me with 413 miles, how can I tell where it was shipped to?

The answer to your question is either look at the window sticker or call your insurance agent. Insurance companies have access to a data base called the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Your agent can find shipping information there and tell you where the car was shipped to from the factory.

Thanks. I mentioned it in an earlier post. The car was delivered to a dealer in Indian Trail, NC. It explains the mileage on the vehicle when I received it.

That wouldn't jive in my book...It's like buying a demo car.
At that mileage, it's almost broken in and if I buy a new car, I want to break it in.

This scenario here, calls for a major discount IMO...

It doesn't really bother me. A demo car would have WAY more than 400 miles. It was a straight trip from NC to VA, driven by some guy in his 60's. If those were all test drive miles, then yes, there would be a problem.

Ridiculous. 413 miles isn't squat, and well below the max mileage that can be on a (new) car in order to be sold as new. Actually, as long as it's never been titled, it can still be sold as new. Demos can go like 10k miles - they are still "new", but disclosed and discounted.

My '12 GT 5.0 was located in KY. My dealer swapped them a new car (from inventory) and some cash to get them to swap. A little old man drove my car from KY to MI, then drove the other car back to KY. Now they had a new car with ~400 miles on it, and I bought my new car with 413 miles on it. Again, "new" doesn't mean less than 20 miles (I forgot the max allowed before it can no longer be sold as "new") - never titled = new.

My guess is that it may have been part of a dealer trade (like my deal). Perhaps it was a dealer trade for someone who either backed out of the deal or failed on the financing, too. Only if your dealer was/is a shyster would I be worried that someone ragged on it for ~400 miles.

There are many logical explanantions. I wouldn't sweat ~400 miles. The engine isn't even broken in yet!

Whoa, thread bump!

Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, this car was a custom order which the customer backed out on down in NC. It was driven up here to this dealer at some point. That is where the 413 miles were from. The car is doing fine and I recently passed 3000 miles
