CEL = Limp mode?

CEL = Limp mode?
I've had the infamous CEL on ever since I went with a catless midpipe (Which I expected). Now, I've read differing opinions, but how damaging is this to be driving around with the CEL (from rear O2's I'd expect) on? It's been on for a few months now. I'm trying to save for a house down payment which has drastically cut into the money I'd normally throw at a CAI/tune.

A CEL caused by cats that aren't there is not going to cause limp mode, nor is it going to cause any damage to the engine. The CEL code is for the rear O2s not reading any different than the front O2s, in effect. That is because - you guessed it - you don't have cats.
Drive on, friend. You'll be fine.

not sure if these work, never tried them.
but they are supposed to be an alternative to MIL eliminators.
although a tuner would be better

If your CEL light is only from the rear O2 sensors, assuming there isn't an additional reason, you're perfectly fine and not hurting anything except giving off more emissions. If you go with a Bama SF3 and list all of your mods, including the o/r mid-pipe, your rear O2 sensors will be turned off and you'll be good with the CEL. Not to mention all of the other benefits of having a Bama tune!
Let me know if there's anything other questions I can help with!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I hooked up an OBDII scanner today and, as expected, threw codes P0420 and P0430
Looks like a tuner is in my near future. Is it possible to pick the 3 canned tunes? In my area, no one sales 91 octane. only 87,89,93. Also, is there such thing as a 93 street tune or is it only a 93 'race' tune? If so, how much difference would there be in an 87 street as opposed to the 93 street?
