Default Drag Slick ?'s

Ok I am looking to get a set of drag slicks but don't know anything about them. So what size should i put on? It is a 2006 gt with 4.10 gears, 5speed, n/a, little over 300hp, and lowered with Eibach springs. Any help would be great I am clueless about this.

Do you have your stock rims to mount them on? 17's or 18's?

What sucks for you, is you will be shifting to 4th just before crossing the line. you need more power or more gear! Some 4.56's with a 275/45/17 tire would be perfect.

I would get a set of drag radials, not slicks.

I dont have any rims and the ones on the car are 20's so i am not using them. I am only going to have them on 1 time a year and it is a 1/8 mile street race.

Get a pair of 15x8 or 15x10 rims for the rear. (15x10s will require you to relocate the swaybar.) Then grab a pair of ET Street bias ply or Hoosier QTPs. Both of them are pretty much a true slick with just enough "tread" to be DOT legal. However, DO NOT drive them on the street for more than a very short distance and be careful if you do. The ET Streets would suit you well in a 26" size. Maybe 26x10.5". The QTPs would work in that size or a 27x10.5 or even 27x11.5". I've run both and prefer the QTPs. Tires are one of those things where you'll have to try a few different combos before you find what really hooks and puts you through the traps where you want to be.

Google shopping. Find the cheapest price from a reputable online dealer, get 'em shipped to your door and take them to your local tire shop to get mounted.

These types of tires are going to behave differently on the street than on a well-prepped track.

26" Hoosier QTPs on 15x10 wheels with UPR swaybar relocation brackets.

And if you haven't already, upgrade to some nice quality control arms like these:

Run the tires around 12-14 psi and get them good and hot before the run!
