Default Front tire wear issues regarding '06 GT

I have gone through 3 sets of tires on my '06 GT in the four years I've owned it. I've been to several tire/alignment shops in my area including a local Ford dealership. It is our daily driver, it has 70K miles on it, I don't beat it, race it or in any way abuse it yet the front tires wear excessively, usually inside cupping that ends up making lots of road noise. The Ford dealer put in new control arms which helped (about a year ago) but now I noticed the cupping is starting again. Anyone with similar problem? And how did you fix it? ANY HELP is GREATLY
appreciated, thank-you.

The front end is nonadjustable except for toe.
Every trip to the alignment shop was just free $$
in their pockets. And not to mention the stealership.
They got you with the 'bad' lower control arms routine.
How much did that cost you? $1K?

Did you buy this GT new?
Is this GT lowered?
Is the frame bent?
Do you rotate the tires every 5K miles?
What brand of tires are you buying?
The cheapest wal-mart tires or quality Michelins?
How old are the front struts?
Is this a coupe or a vert?
Do you have the OEM A-Arm Brace that was left off
of some 05 to mid 07 year models.

Just not enough info to help you at this point...

The front end camber may out of alignment. Unfortunately, it's non-adjustable as mentioned by 157dB.
My mechanic said my GT's camber is right at the edge of being out of spec, and he will probably have to install camber plates during the next realignment.
Also, it's very important to have the toe properly adjusted, since these car's are designed with a negative camber, which will quickly cup the front tires with an out of spec toe.

Cupping can also be due to bad struts. Have those been checked?

That's what I would suggest. Aftermarket $20 camera bolts can be installed easily.

I vote struts.

Get a print out of the specs after alignment. Most shops garuntee their alignment for a year.

Have the alignment checked and if its good, you need struts most likely. Go somewhere else besides ford.

Thanks for the input...to answer 157db's questions:
I bought this car used with 44k miles.
It is not lowered or modified in any way.
The frame is not bent to my knowledge, but again, I am the second owner.
The struts are original, I had two sets of Goodyear on it now on Kumho.
It is a coupe and I don't know about the A-arm brace...how can I check for that?

Thanks again....

My tires on my 09 GT are wearing on the inside Needs camber kit to adjust for negative camber. $45 alignment will cost $165 total with the kit

Thanks Joe....I am planning on new struts and shocks...anyone recommend a brand to go with? I use this car as a daily driver (three seasons only of course here in MN), I do not race it or push it too hard so I want long term results that keep tires in proper condition.
Does everyone recommend the A-arm brace also, my GT does not have it. Where can I get the camber kit? I have a local shop that does all my work and I want to take it there to have them install all this at one time; shocks, struts, brace, camber kit, etc. ANY other recommendations for this project?? I will follow up next spring (over the winter purchase) with new wheels and tires. Thanks for all the input, really helps.
