Default Opinions please :)

Hello all, it's been nearly a year since my last post, many things have drastically changed in 10 months.....
My car(the 2006 Tungsten GT) no longer exists , a very stupid decision on my part ended
with my beloved GT getting pretty much destroyed last December. Luckily for me, it was a solo accident, no one was injured(expect for my GT) and my insurance paid nicely for a 55,000 mile 2006 GT(I got $19,400). After paying what I owed and other pressing finanicial obligations, I was left with about $12K. After buying a used 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4X4($3000) and driving it for the past 8 months, I find myself longing to replace my fallen GT. This time though I want an automatic and it has to be a 2007-2009 GT or GT/CS, I'm not a fan of the 2010+ cars, I know they're better made, nicer interior and more power(5.0L), but they do nothing for me heart-wise. I've found two possible candidates and both are Candy Apple Red, one a GT/CS(2008 but is manual) with 21K miles fully loaded(heated seat/HIDs/ambient lighting/two tone interior) and the asking price is $22,997. The other is a 2009 GT(automatic, premium) with 15K miles, it has the Glass Roof(I love that feature), 18" Bullitt wheels, tan leather and HIDs. Was listed at a Chevy dealer for $27,995! My inqueries to the dealership has yielded a price of $21,995 from them. I made an offer for $19,500 on the GT/CS and am awaiting a response for the other dealer(Ford dealer). BTW, the GT/CS is a Ford CPO(certified pre-owned) car and comes with the 7/100,000 warranty and potential 1.9% financing.
Okay, I'm sorry for such a long-winded post, but I need opinions, please give me your thoughts, thank you all in advance
Paul

Shopping for exactly what you want can be the fun part. Save up as much $$ as you can to reduce payments.

A pre-'10 S197 should be had for under $20k. Good luck and welcome back!

Just picked her up, 2009 GT premium, glass roof, HIDs, automatic, candy red, saddle leather, polished bullitts, 15,300 miles. $23K out the door cash. I looked everywhere for a low mileage glassroof 2009, most were $26K & up, the one I bought was listed at $27995! came out to $20,800 + tax/lic= $23,000. Very happy, still smells new! Drives like brand new(no rattles, squeaks or anything!). I tried to download a pic, but seems to be failing each time(file is jpg and is small).....btw, the glassroof is the bomb!

3 things..

1. A Jeep? That is NOT... a Mustang.. tisk tisk
2. I feel you on the 05-09, style can't be beat.
3. Get the one you want.. auto, get auto.. your car, don't compromise.

Yes, I'm guilty as charged! LOL In my defense, I had always wanted a 2 door Jeep Cherokee 4X4, but after 8 months, why did I ever want one?!!!!
I'm back!!! Trying to post pics(I'll figure it out) and I'm sorry for straying. Just activated the SiriusXM radio(love satellite radio!) and with the ambient lighting, glass roof and automatic transmission, I am beyond thrilled to not only have a Mustang again, but this particular Mustang, has all the things I wanted(okay maybe the nav would've been nice), it's so good to be back

Welcome back! And glad you got back into the 05-09 body style!

I have decided to keep my '08 GT for a while now...
