KBB lists a similar car private seller at $15,796 (very good) and $16,346 (excellent). I'd low ball him at 15K and go from there.

Hey everyone,

I am a deployed soldier in afghanistan and i've been wanting a mustang since i could remember. since there's no income tax in afghanistan i managed to save up and send the money home. i told my father that i trusted his judgement to find me a good mustang within my paramiters (2007 4.6 5 spd) and i ended up getting an 07 gt for 21000. good decision/bad decision? it only has 12000 miles on it

so ive made my decision, im gonna go ahead and buy the car. i spoke with the old man once again, based on the dealership the car is in very good conditions. did not get excellent because he was missing some of the paper work for maintenace. Over all the dealership is giving him 16k flat as a trade in which i thought was very generous. it passed that 130 point inspection. tires are about 90% tread. the car is worth 16k and has easily 10k in mods. it has a stage two intercooler procharger. he is now asking for 19k and i offered 18.5k. and he said yes . hopefully i'll have it at my place this weekend.

First, thank you for your service... That said, does it really matter? You already had your dad buy it, based on what I read... Just start thinking about how sweet it is so you can really look forward to coming home driving it... Be safe and just think about your first drive in your new car...

@OP: Good luck with the purchase and enjoy the Stang.

@Sjnma: Stay safe bro and your Mustang will be waiting for you. I bought my Stang while in Afghanistan and couldn't wait to come home to drive it. Spent about $2000 on mods while in Afghanistan as well. They day I drove it was so worth every penny I spent. GL!

I'll second and third BigD in thanking for your service...As for the car it seems like a good deal...if you bought it enjoy, if not keep searching...you may find a better deal...I saw an 09 GT/CS 4.6 5spd with 6500 miles in the classifieds for around 20K...You are in Ill. and I'm assuming the market is different...Again...Thank you!

478 is being done all day long on these cars. Even I don't use wot everyday, so it should last as long as the next car. I can't even use wot in 1-2 and shifting hard into 3rd. I'd be more worried about a teenaged on car that is all stock.
