I'm west coast though so it'll be Saturday.

I'd definatley look into getting on your parents policy. You might even consider putting it on suspend (If the company allows it since it needs to be fully covered...and please look into gap insurance, I hear horror stories nightly). Suspend allows you to drive the car a set amount of days a month (Allstate is 10) at a fraction of the cost. Some companies offer it, some don't.
i would appreciate you asking them. See if there is anything i could do, it just seems way to high for no reason at all

I see in your sig that you have a 2010gt...was that quote by any chance adding the 03 onto the 10 policy? What's the coverage/payment/company for the 2010?

actually its technically my dads car, even though it is mine. His insurance, his payment and has nothing to do with me (even though i help him pay for it every month).

I dont understand why a 10 year old car would cost 700 to 1,200 a month to insure. Absolutely insane

Have you seen what people pay for a tiny apartment in New York? It makes no sense to live there.

trying to find a company thats willing to give me a quote of about 300-450 a month. even though its high, i would only be paying it for a month or two until i take the plates off and store it for the winter (i would keep fire and theft on) that way when i reinsure it in the spring i would have somewhat of an insurance history and hopefully the rate would go down.

To be fair it isn't just the cost of the car that is taken into consideration. As others have said, your age and location are a factor but also is the cost involved if you are in an accident. Damage to others cars and possible injuries as well as lawsuits. I know it sucks but hopefully you will find somebody more reasonable.

That's insane, I don't think I've ever heard of such high insurance costs from someone that has a clean driving record.

Well, I brought it up to the wife this morning. She says location has a lot to do with it and because you're located in NY and there's more traffic, higher accident rates and your age that it is possible to have a higher rate. She still thinks its high, but she deals with personal injuries. I'll talk with her mom later tonight who does quotes as she'd probably know a little more. I paid 205 a month for a 03gt, 96gt vert and 96 coupe so I'd suggest you move your *** far away from that city lol.
