Default RPMs oscillate at startup of 05 GT

I have an automatic, and I've noticed the last few months that my engine sort of revs up and down a couple hundred RPMs when i start the car. It's quick, each oscillation is maybe half a second, and it only happens for 10 seconds or so. At first I thought it was only when I start in reverse to back out of my parking spot, but it also happens in drive as well. I haven't noticed any connection to temperature yet. Any ideas?

Have you moved recently to a drastic elevation change? My 2010 did that after i went from sea level to 4000 but much worse. It sounded like it had a radical cam in it and usually only happened on cold days. But after installing several mods and putting a tune on it after disconnecting the battery it has seemed to quit. So I would suggest to try and disconnect the battery for a while to erase what the computer has 'learned' and re-connect and see if it works better. If not you may be in need of a tune up where some better plugs and coil overs may erase the problem forever

Mine does this when it's cold out. (Below 70, I'm from Texas.) I figured it was an engine warm up thing. Doing engine things and such.

It stops after a few seconds and doesn't do it again until I let the engine set for awhile.

Clean your throttle body, Mine did this like crazy and ended up having a large build up of carbon which was messing with the sensors. Easy and quick fix.

+1 on the TB cleaning being the 1st thing to do.

If you have a tune, it could be as simple as disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes to reset it.

On the other hand, do you have the a/c or heat on? I notice with the a/c on during the summer that the rpm fluctuate as the unit kicks in. I hate when it does that since I have the FRPP cams.

ok, I finally managed to get this on video. This occurs immediately upon starting up the car. Sorry, no audio.

Does this still seem like a throttle body issue?

It shouldn't do that. Remove your throttle body and clean it.

We suggested cleaning the TB back in October. Was that done?
