Did I buy a drug dealer's car?
Hello, new member here. I just bought my first car two weeks ago after months of mustang hunting. Originally I was looking at early 2000 sn95 GTs which were more in my price range. I never imagined I'd be the new owner of a 28000 mile 07 GT. Not only that, it came with a slew of bolt ons; including k&n CAI, 62mm BBK throttle body, Nitto 265's on 20 in shelby rims, full aftermarket exhaust. I haven't been under the car yet but I can see its got a catted x-pipe and mac axlebacks. Also it's lowered. So you can imagine my enthusiasm when I first spotted this car... on sale... for $14K canadian! I'm literally in love with the car. And it's history is clean and the interior looks next to new so I have a hard time believing that there is something wrong with it. Of all places, I bought it from a Kia dealer, and they knew literally nothing about the car. Couldn't tell me a thing other than what was obvious like the fact that hell comes out the back and it rides low. When I asked them why was it priced so low (comparable mileage s197 GTs around manitoba are closer to $18K, stock), they told me the previous owner traded it in. For a new Kia. Yeah right. Anyway this is my first car. I'm inexperienced and so maybe you guys can shed some light on my beautiful mystery. I'll be making a few more posts to try to get to the bottom of a few unanswered questions and I appreciate beforehand all your help. So here is my first question, how come this car is such a good deal? Maybe it isn't unusual, but after looking at sn95s with double the miles and age, it seems like a steal. Did the Kia dealer buy it at auction from the police? This is my best hypothesis so far. Maybe some guys wife won it in a divorce and sold it for quick cash? What do you guys think? Not for nothing but I so happen to be Kia Professional tech at a local kia dealer here in Jersey and I love my 2010 GT but the new Kia Optima SX TURBO has really grown on me working on them and being around them. It has crossed my mind about trading in the stang for one from time to time but I couldn't take the hit. I'm only 23. But don't be surprised an owner would trade something in like that for an Optima SX but thats just my input and its 32k car

Well if it was "confiscated" for any practical reasons or truly traded in, then at that price, you only have one option...
DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!
When i bought my 07 GT, it was priced @ $17,900 with 10k miles. After it was all said and done, i only paid $15k =)
Well done and good find! Hope that Pony treats you well

All of the bolt on goodies do nothing for the trade in value of the car at a dealership. They base the price on the car itself. Good for the buyer if he is like all of us and a Mustang freak. If you were selling or buying the car to an individual it may be a little different. Those things appeal to us although it has nothing to do with the actual loan value of the car. I found a good deal on my used '12, although not as good as the OP's. Already had Borla axle backs & American Racing wheels. My first two mods did not cost me a dime if you do not consider the cost of the car. Enjoy the ride & congrats on a good deal!!

Could of been sitting on their lot for months. Who knows. Why in the world would you think it was a drug dealers car? Besides those wheels?
They probably had no idea what they had on their hands, since it was a Kia dealer and you said they were clueless. Seen that happen with trade-in's at other car maker dealerships.
And your picture is beyond ginormous, might want to tweak that a little. I have a 28" monitor and I still can't see it all.
