2012 5.0 transmission failure
#11
On my Mustang, the slushbox was covered by a 3rd party warranty (bought the car used), and they authorized the dealer to replace with a re-manufactured 5-speed auto. They apparently don't make anymore of the 5-speeds new, so it has to be a re-manufactured unit. Because of that, the warranty on it is only 3 years, but unlimited miles with no deductible. Since I drive over 20,000 miles a year on my car, it's actually a good warranty for me.

Winner to answer your question they took it apart the first time when i went to pick it up it wouldn't go in reverse. the second time they replaced it 5th wouldn't work but while putting it back together the second time they broke the trans case in the process. I also asked and they stated that ford would rather rebuild then replace. But since then shes been fine

So i just got a 12 5.0, had it for 3 months now, only has 40k miles on it now. yesterday i drove it to and from work like i normally do, but half way home im at a light, it turns green so i go, get into 2 and it just sounded bad ever time i shifted into 2nd the gear shifter would shake and vibrate really bad, now im the second owner, it's still under the 5yr/60k mile warranty... im having it dropped of monday and ford. now my question is, second im the second owner is the warranty still valid seeing how it is still under the 5yr/60k i have read all the threads above.. just would like some words from the wise..anything at this moment would be helpful.. thank
