Tranny, clutch, clutch pack in your rear end, forged bottom end.

Save the money and buy the supercharger sooner. None of those items will hurt you with a blower, but your power goals can be met without them. Take that $1000 bucks you'd otherwise spend on those parts and apply it to getting a blower 1k sooner.
FWIW I was over 460whp on the stock TB, and exhast manifolds. Midpipe was different with the Saleen (Magnaflow) exhaust I believe. |
oil catch can, and a tranny catch can. there are several types of oil catch cans however jdm makes a solid tranny catch can. Im not sure but I think they are the only ones that make them. I could be mistaken though
|
+1 on the oil catch can. That should be put on all 4.6 motors for as much oil as these cans catch. No sense in blowing all that oil through your new supercharger, plus that oil mist takes up valuable space for air and fuel!

I figured I could hit my goal without exhaust work, its just what I was told to get, thats why I came here lol
So tranny work (primarily clutch) before supercharger. And about that oil catch can, is there any differences between that and an oil separator? I know they all do the same thing, but is one easier to install / maintain compared the other? Thanks! |
Rubber is your friend...all that power will not mean sh&t without grip!
If you are going to upgrade ANYTHING before the sc'er, it should be wheels and tires. A clutch would be second on the list. |
I'm not sure what to be looking for with wheels and tires. I don't want to end up buying wheels that requre some $200 tire (exaggerating of course). Is there tires for our stock rims that will surpass?

there should be some tire offering that would be decent on the stock rims, maybe a DR if you actually want to launch... really depends on what weather your driving in. width really doesnt matter its all about the compound, wider tires do look good though. |
Yeah, I won't be able to do summer tires for my daily driver here in MD. Today we have snow, and this weekend is suppose to be high 50s lol... I'm looking at the American Muscle website at their all-season tires right now. Is there any certain dimensions that I should get for the tires? I know the whole width/thickness-rim sizing structure, I'm mostly asking about thickness since the other 2 are pretty much rim-specific.
Thanks! |
