Default Seat Comfort

Subjective for certain and I will likeley rent one if possible (rental companies keep them south for winter and I am in NY)

Looking at GT Premium and wondered about seat comfort. My back likes softer seats (usually found in domestic) and very little lumbar. I have a euro car now and seats are way to firm and too much lumbar.

Anyone with a bad back that likes or hates these seats? (All backs are different but as stated mine needs soft and minimal lumbar as the pressure shifts things)

I have sold cars shortly after purchase in the past and am trying to avoid that again....Any expoerienced help would be much appreciated.

Thank you-

If you get one, probably getting a tilting headrest is a must. That is one of the bigger complaints. It fits me though so no complaints here. When lumbar is fully down, the seat is completely flat in the back. I would say the seats are not "plush" but they are not rock hard and thin like you get in bmw cars, or the upper trim hyundai cars. If you're wanting to make this decision sooner try renting an Edge, I've ridden in both and the seats are very similar. Different seating position, but the bolstering and adjustments are about equivalent, minus the headrest. Hope that helps.

Thank you- My back actually likes to be flat (Flat back syndrome) so that is a start. The edge is a nice suggestion but seating position is very different as you mentioned.

Anyone else?

BAsed on my showroom experience it seems the GT premium leather is more plush than the upgraded leather with the stripe in the center.

I am a relatively "heafty" guy with cronic back pain. I cannot drive my wife's Mazda for more than an hour, but I have driven my Mustang from Boston to Florida twice with absolutly no probems at all. The premium leather seats are exteremly comfortable. The headrest takes some getting used to, but I no longer even think about them.

Good luck with which ever you choose.

BTW, I have the 401A upgrade with the stripe.
